PURPOSE

This policy serves as a cornerstone of our environmental management system and provides a clear, unifying vision of environmental by the entire Missouri University of Science and Technology campus.

The environmental policy establishes Missouri S&T's commitment to :

• Prevention of pollution;
• Compliance with regulatory requirements and other requirements to which the university subscribes; and
• Continual environmental improvement

The policy will be a firm foundation for setting our environmental objectives and targets and this in turn will be evident in our daily activities.

 POLICY

• Missouri S&T will implement measures to conserve energy and raw materials including fuel and electricity.

• Missouri S&T will establish continual improvement processes to prevent pollution and ensure compliance with regulatory and other requirements. Missouri S&T will raise awareness among students, faculty and staff on the importance of proactive environmental management. 

• Missouri S&T will encourage recycling, implement strategies for continually reducing waste from out activities and ensure compliance with relevant environmental legislation and regulations, as well as with other requirements to which the university subscribed.
